Frequently Asked Question
Add A New Blog Post
Last Updated 4 years ago
When adding a new blog, a very similar page to the page editor will come up. However, the layout is slightly different on this page, as you will have more features that are relevant to a blog including:
- Title- Add in your blog title here.
- Blog Image- Either choose an existing image or use the ‘Quick Upload’ button to upload an image. After adding the image, you can choose whether you would like the image to be a header image (this will display behind the title), share the image only or display the image within the content.
- Add Header Image Credit- Here you can add in the photographer/creator of the chosen blog image.
- Header Image Source URL- Here you can add in the image URL. For example, if the image is from a stock library then you can add the URL to the chosen stock library.
Below this, you can add your blog post. This is the same page editor that is used throughout the system.
To the right of the page, you will have a selection of other settings which you can choose to use for your blog. Starting with:
- Publishing Date and Time- Here you can choose to set a time and date that you would like your blog to be published on. You can also specify an end date and time too.
- Permalink Settings- Here you can choose to edit/change the permalink. Just note that the permalink is generated automatically depending on what the title of the blog is. If you change this at a later stage the link may become broken.
- Category and Group- Here you can choose to add your blog to a category or a group, which can ensure that your viewers understand what your blog is about.
- Author Details- In this area, you can add some information and even a picture of the author of your blog. This can be useful to build trust between you and your viewers. Add the author’s name, image and bio.
- Post Options- Here you can choose to not show your blog post yet, you can set your blog as the featured blog you can also allow comments both on your article and also allow Facebook comments.
- Social Connections- Here you can add in your social media handles so that when you publish your blog it will add a follow button for that particular social media platform.
